Wenche TjentlandAlto and Tenor sackbut

Wenche Tjentland originates from Sandnes, and now resides in Oslo. In 2008 she had her soloist debut with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, as a soloist in the "Concerto for trombone and orchestra" by Ellen Taaffe Zwilich. 

Wenche has a master's degree and diploma soloist studies from The Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, along with studies at the Conservatoire de Lausanne in Switzerland for Michel Becquet, and in Stavanger and Tromsø. She has won several prizes and competitions, such as the trombone section of the ”Concorso Internazionale di Musica per giovani Interpreti ”Citta di Chieri”, in Italy; the Norwegian Championship for soloists and Sandnes Sparebanks Music Prize.

Wenche has been a soloist with orchestras such as Sandnes Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino in Italy. She works as a freelance musician, and has played in orchestras such as The Norwegian Radio Orchestra, The Norwegian Opera Orchestra, the GothenburgOpera, The Norwegian Wind Ensemble, Wermland Opera, The Royal Norwegian Air Force Band, The Norwegian Baroque Orchestra and Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.

Wenche Tjentland kommer fra Sandnes, og bor nå i Oslo. I 2008 debuterte hun som solist med Göteborgs Symfoniker. Hun har mastergrad og diplomstudium i soloutøving trombone fra Musikhögskolan i Göteborg, samt studier ved Conservatoire de Lausanne i Sveits, Høgskolen i Tromsø, avd. kunstfag og Høgskolen i Stavanger, avd. kunstfag. Wenche har vunnet flere konkurranser og priser, blant annet vant hun tromboneklassen i ”Concorso Internazionale di Musica per giovani Interpreti ”Citta di Chieri”, i Italia; og Sandnes Sparebanks Musikkpris. Hun arbeider nå som frilansmusiker.
